Shae is a Ph.D. student in geobiology who joined my research group in August 2018. She is interested in using the isotopic composition of amino acids as biomarkers for both modern and ancient metabolic processes, including marine particulate organic matter. She earned dual B.A. degrees in Molecular Biology and Neurobiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she did a senior thesis with Sebastian Kopf. Shae is an NSF Graduate Research fellow.
